Agency.Malaysian police on Friday released the only North Korean man held in connection with the death of Kim Jong-nam. Officials have cited insufficient evidence as the ground for the release of Ri Jong Chol who had been detained since February 17, nearly four days after the death of the half brother of North Korea’s leader.National police chief Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed that they lack sufficient evidence to charge him and Chol will be deported over immigration charges.
Meanwhile, Malaysia condemned the use of banned VX nerve agent in the attack. The Malaysian Foreign Ministry statement said it was “greatly concerned” its use could have endangered the public. Mr.Kim Jong-nam died on February 13 at an airport in the Malaysian capital,Kuala Lumpur.
