Agency.Eight persons were injured on Tuesday,in a blast in the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train near Jabdi station,a railway official said.Two of the eight persons were seriously injured.
The incident happened between 09:30 a.m. and 10: a.m. when the train was on its way to Ujjain from Bhopal,Railway PRO, Indore, Jitendra Kumar Jayant, said.
A bomb disposal squad reached the accident site and is trying to ascertain the cause and the nature of the blast.
GRP Indore SP Krishnaveni Desavatu said, “The ceiling of the coach was damaged in the blast but so far we have not found any explosive device or its remains from the spot.” He further revealed that a suitcase was found in the coach and the bomb disposal squad is examining it.
The PRO stated that the two coaches of the train were damaged in the blast. After the coaches were separated from the train,Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train left for its onward journey.
